Measuring Yourself
BUST
Measure the fullest part of your bust. (This is not the same
as your bra size)
WAIST
Measure the smallest part of your waist.
HIPS
Measure the fullest part of your hips. (not normally needed if buying
a full skirted or A-line style)
LENGTH
The length of all dresses varies and US brands such as Jovani, Faviana
and Scala are particular long. Many customers need to have the hem shortened
to achieve the correct length.
Choosing the correct dress size
You may find that your measurements do not match exactly to the sizes
shown on the size charts. This is normal as most people are not an exact
standard size.
When deciding which dress size to order, it is advisable to choose the
size that is slightly bigger than your measurements, as this allows a
little room for movement.
Lace-back styles can be tightened or loosened as necessary without usually
needing to have any alterations. Other styles may require some alteration
to achieve the best fit. This is quite common special occasion dresses.
