Miss Universe GB shops!
Miss Universe Great Britain 2010, Tara Hoyos- Martinez, picked up a selection of beautiful gowns from Dress Stop this month. Tara will be wearing the dresses when she represents Great Britain at the Miss Universe finals in Las Vegas in August. Tara said: “There were so many gorgeous dresses, I was spoilt for choice.”

TOP THREE AT MISS WALES 2010 WEAR DRESS STOP
The top three in Miss Wales 2010 all wore Dress Stop gowns at the competition grand final.
Winner, Courtenay Hamilton, chose a stunning lemon Jovani dress, while Summer Ghanavati who came second and Jamie-Lee Williams who was third both sparkled in Primavera.
Carole Williams, manager of Dress Stop, said: “I was thrilled to see the top three girls wearing Dress Stop. However, I have to say that each and every contestant looked fabulous in the evening wear parade.”

PROM DRESS FOR A POUND
 Dress Stop.com is holding a prom dress for a pound extravaganza on Saturday 9 January 2010. The promotion will mark the official arrival of Dress Stop’s 2010 prom collection and will mean that some lucky ladies will walk away with the bargain of the year. Carole Williams, manager of Dress Stop, said: “We have the biggest and best collection of prom dresses in Wales and so we’ve decided to have the best January sale too! “Last year it was a huge success and great fun for everyone who came along.” The doors of Dress Stop will be officially opened by the reigning, Miss Wales, Lucy Whitehouse at 10am on Saturday 9 January. It will be one of her first engagements since returning home from the Miss World competition in South Africa. Hot chocolate and muffins will be offered to bargain hunters in the queue and champagne and nibbles provided when the doors open. As well as a number of prom-dresses for a pound, there will be other evening wear bargains and also the official unveiling of the 2010 prom collection. Dress Stop.com stocks more than 200 dresses sourced from across Europe and America, including the exact dresses worn by the likes of Julia Roberts, Mischa Barton and America Ferrera at celebrity red carpet events. It is based in Pentwyn, Cardiff.

LUCY WINS WEARING DRESS STOP
Lucy Whitehouse
was crowned Miss Wales 2009 after wowing a panel of celebrity judges in
her two outfits from Dress Stop.
Twenty-one year old nurse Lucy, who is from Barry, chose a knee length
silver cocktail dress from Dress Stop for the party wear round, and a
floor length intricately embroidered pink gown for the traditional evening
wear round.
In total 54 young Welsh women took part in the event, sponsored by Dress-Stop.com
which, (along with the Mister Wales competition), raised more than £120,000
for The Joshua Foundation – a charity for children with cancer.
Lucy will now go on to represent Wales at Miss World in South Africa
this autumn and will now pick up a series of other gowns from us part
of her prize.
Special guest at the event was the reigning Miss World Ksenia Sukhinova
who flew in from Russia for the event and complemented Lucy on her choice
of dresses.
Carole Williams, manager of Dress Stop said: “A number of the contestants
looked wonderful in their Dress Stop gowns. To have the winner crowned
in one of our dresses made the evening particularly special.”

Dress-Stop.com has launched its own on-line collection featuring a number
of dresses from the showroom.Carole Williams, manager of Dress-Stop.com,
said: “We have people travelling to us from West Wales, the Midlands
and the West Country which is great. The on-line service is there for
those who’d prefer to shop from the comfort of their own home.“

ALL ABOUT EVE
Dress-Stop.com stole the show at All About Eve – a fashion show
organised by Caerphilly Business Forum in aid of Save The Children. Models
showed a selection of our gowns (pictured below) and wowed the sell out
crowd.

gowns for the big night – and they looked just fantastic.
Our congratulations go to winner, Kathryn Lane who wore a sparkling navy
blue Sherri Hill gown; Kirsty Rabjohns who came second in a beautiful
cream Jovani dress; and Gemma Hart who was third in a showstopping jade
Dynasty.

WELSH WOMEN OF THE YEAR WINS IN DRESS STOP DRESS
We’d like to add send our congratulations to Professor Judith
Hall who has been named Welsh Woman of the Year 2008.
We were delighted to see the picture of Judith from the evening, looking
wonderful in a beautiful black and silver Jovani gown from DressStop.
Professor Hall was one of a number of finalists who bought from us for
the occasion.
Now, courtesy of Dress Stop, a second beautiful gown will be winging
its way to Judith so that she has another cracking outfit for all the
special occasions she’ll attend in her new role.

2009 PROM COLLECTION ARRIVES
The 2009 prom dress collection is
beginning to arrive at Cardiff’s Dress Stop.
Among the favourites is a peacock print gown by Jovani, which is already
proving popular with young women who have started shopping for their big
night this summer.
Carole Williams, manager of Dress Stop, said: “Pieces are coming
in daily which is very exciting. We’ve got the traditional full
princess like dresses, which are particularly popular with 16 year olds.
For the 18 year olds who are often looking for something a little slinkier,
there are a number of wonderful options from the likes of Faviana and
Sherri Hill.”
Dress Stop is based in the Pentwyn area of Cardiff. It is Wales’
largest supplier of evening wear and promwear and has a lit catwalk in
its 500sq ft showroom. Open six days a week.

RACHEL WOWS IN DRESS STOP GOWN AT NATIONAL TV AWARDS
Big Brother 2008 winner, Rachel Rice from Cwmbran, looked beautiful this
week at the National Television Awards in a floor length red silk Jovani
gown from Cardiff's Dress-Stop.com.

high profile appearances since leaving the Big Brother house.

DRESSED TO IMPRESS AT MISS WORLD
Miss Wales 2008, Chloe-Beth Morgan, has chosen a wardrobe of dresses
worn by the stars this week in a bid to shine at Miss World 2008.
The 22 year old from Cwmbran, who took the title back in July, spent
an afternoon at Wales largest supplier of evening wear and promwear, Dress-Stop.com,
choosing the dresses of her dreams for the big event.
Amongst those she chose were a copy of a silver cocktail dress originally
worn by Eva Longoria designed by Sherri Lee; a floor length purple and
sequinned Sherri Lee gown; and a lemon figure-hugging number by Jovani
which was worn to the National Television Award by Adele Silver, from
Emmerdale.
Dress-Stop.com manager, Carole Williams, said: “It was a pleasure
to be able to give these wonderful gowns to Chloe. She looked wonderful
in them all and I’m sure she’ll do Wales proud at Miss World.”
Chloe-Beth said: “I’m really grateful to Dress-Stop.com for
supporting me. Having the right wardrobe is so important and I can honestly
say I feel like a million dollars in these dresses.”

DRESS-STOP.COM IN RUNNING FOR AWARD
Dress-Stop.com is up for its first award, less than six months after
opening. The brand has been shortlisted in the Chartered Institute of
Public Relations PRide awards in the best design category.
Clare Birt, who helped develop the Dress-Stop.com brand including logo,
website and literature said: “When we came up with the Dress-Stop.com
concept, we really wanted something special to mirror the quality of our
product. We’ve been delighted with the way our brand has worked
for us and are pleased that our piers in the PR and marketing sector recognise
its value.”
The Dress-Stop.com team will have to wait until the end of October for
the awards ceremony to find out if they walk away with the overall prize.

The autumn and winter collection of wonderful evening wear has arrived
at Dress-Stop.com for the party season. New pieces have already entered
the store for Christmas from John Charles, Dynasty and Jovani.

It’s a very exciting time. We’re looking forward to our first

MISS WALES CONTESTANTS SPARKLE WITH DRESS-STOP
Contestants at Miss Wales sparkled in gowns bought at Dress-Stop.com
at a sell out event in Cardiff International Arena.
The award for best-dressed went to Stephanie Cork from Bridgend who looked
beautiful in a floor length silver gown by leading pageant wear designers
Sherri Hill. Dress Stop.com is the only supplier in Wales to stock the
leading American designer.
Dress-Stop.com will now provide the winner of Miss Wales 2008, Chloe
Beth Morgan, with a wardrobe of gowns in her bid to become Miss World

MISS UNIVERSE GB DEBUTS DESIGNER DRESSES
In just ten days Miss Universe GB Lisa Lazarus will jet off to Vietnam
to compete against beauties from over 80 nations in the race to become
‘Miss Universe’.
Lisa, from Llanelli, has been putting the finishing touches to the wardrobe
she hopes will wow the judges and make her the first British woman in
the competition’s history to take the title.
To ensure Lisa’s dressed to impress Dress-Stop.com has offered the
beauty queen a selection of designer dresses worth over £2,000 from
their showroom in Cardiff.

DRESS-STOP.COM SPONSOR MISS UNIVERSE QUALIFIER
Dress-Stop.com signed up as official sponsor to the Miss Universe UK
competition in May, helping raise £35,000 for charity.
The grand final of the competition involved young women from Scotland,
England and Wales and took place at the Café de Paris on Leicester
Square.
A number of the finalists shopped at Dress-Stop.com to choose their evening
wear for the big occasion.
The winner of the competition was Lisa Lazarus. Lisa will now represent
Great Britain at Miss Universe in Vietnam this summer.

A CHALLENGING DAY AT DRESS-STOP
Contestants preparing for the final of Miss Wales 2008 underwent The
Joshua Challenge as part of their fundraising efforts to help children
with cancer.
This included doing a number of challenges around Cardiff – including
being photographed at the Dress-Stop.com showroom
Thanks to the support of Dress-Stop.com, Miss Wales is the highest fundraising
beauty pageant in the UK.
This year, the competition raised more than £75,000 for The Joshua
Foundation. Ten per cent of all sales from Dress-Stop.com for the competition
were also donated to the charity.

WELSH WOMEN GET GLAMOUROUS
A new concept in evening wear and promwear will arrive in Wales with
the launch of a 500ft showroom in Cardiff on Saturday 15 March stocking
dresses worn by the stars.
Dress-Stop.com will stock more than 200 dresses sourced from across Europe
and America, including the exact dresses worn by the likes of Julia Roberts,
Mischa Barton and America Ferrera at celebrity red carpet events.
Features of the showroom include a raised lit catwalk, next to the changing
rooms and a personal shopping service.
