How do I hire an evening dress from Dress Stop?
Drop into Dress Stop about a week before your event. All the dresses are labelled with a price to hire and a price to buy. You can try on as many as you wish to find the one that suits you best. Have a chat with our shop manger Carole – she’s great at finding the one that will really make you sparkle!
How do I reserve a dress?
If you are hiring a dress from us, we can only promise you the dress of your choice a week before your event. All our dresses are for hire or purchase so if you visit us more than a week in advance of your event you would need to buy your dress to guarantee the gown of your dreams. You can still reserve it more than a week before, but it will remain on sale up until a week before your actual hire. If it is sold within that time frame, we will call you straight away so you have time to come in and choose an alternative. We’ll complete a hire form, detailing the dress you wish to hire and put it away until you are due to collect it.
What does it cost?
The hire cost will depend on the choice of dress. There are four tiers of pricing £49, £99, £149 and £199 and the appropriate amount will be detailed on the label of the dress. The hire price covers you for 24 hours hire but if you wish to hire for longer there will be a supplement of £10 per day or £50 a week.
What if the dress is damaged?
At the time of hire we will take a damage deposit from you of either £20 or £50 depending on the dress. If the dress is returned with no damage – you will be refunded the damage deposit in full.
When do I pay?
Payment is taken at the time of reservation. You may pay by debit or credit card. We will also keep a note of your credit card number and in the event the dress is not returned to us the full sale price of the dress will be charged to your card.
When do I pick it up?
The standard hire rate is for 24 hours. If your event is on a Friday evening, you will need to pick it up from us on Friday between 10am and 5pm and deliver it back Saturday between 10am and 5pm. If your event is on a Saturday evening you will need to pick it up from us on Saturday between 10am and 5pm and deliver it back Monday between 10am and 5pm. We are not open on Sundays. We will explain pick up and drop off times to you at the time of hire. If you need to hire the dress for longer than 24 hours the £10 per day or £50 per week supplement will be charged. Dress Stop is open from 10am – 5pm from Monday to Saturday. We are closed on Sundays and bank holidays.
